However, why did you chose to stop at 180A?Kristofnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-910685024071367839.post-9041232812398141742021-11-17T19:36:05.043-05:002021-11-17T19:36:05.043-05:00No, haven't had any belt issues. For peaky applications like vehicles you can push them pretty hard.Ben Katzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15816221191617788028noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-910685024071367839.post-49851870360829121902021-11-17T12:30:24.803-05:002021-11-17T12:30:24.803-05:00Ben, Thanks for the reply, and u are 100% correct...Ben, Thanks for the reply, and u are 100% correct on all fronts. the kelly is a POS.The kelly really heated up the motor FAST. The new controller puts zero heat into the motor, SO EFFICIENT!!! I have a new controller now, a Lebowski brain in an IMA inverter, so far I have spun to 11.5KRPM at 160V, going to 200V :) Trying to build a dyno like yours. Did you all ever break any gates belts? I called up gates and they said I needed a 21mm wide belt for 60nm.EricEhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09667641026983005320noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-910685024071367839.post-65139879715848117392020-12-09T23:09:36.208-05:002020-12-09T23:09:36.208-05:00It's 3 pole-pairs. You probably won't be able to get good performance out of it with a kelly controller - it really wants a lookup table of ideal D/Q current vs torque and speed - See Bayley's posts on the subject:
http://isopack.blogspot.com/p/electric-shifter-kart.html

That speed actually is about right for Q-current only control, which is probably what the FOC kelly controllers do.

Ben Katzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15816221191617788028noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-910685024071367839.post-30812805926298162572020-12-09T22:43:33.164-05:002020-12-09T22:43:33.164-05:00How many poles is that motor? I can only get it to go to 5400 RPM so far.EricEhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09667641026983005320noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-910685024071367839.post-7920407123671435992018-03-26T02:53:17.327-04:002018-03-26T02:53:17.327-04:00nice project,
